The Huge Cypress Nature Reserve in Baji Town, Nyingchi County, is a complete forest of huge cypress trees. Among these cypress trees. Among these cypress trees, one is 46 meters tall and is about 2,000-2,500 years old by inference and is respected as the sacred tree by the local people.

The giant cypress, also called Yarlung Zangbo cypress, is a species peculiar to Tibet. On the slope southwest of the Bajie Village at over 40 kilometers west to Nyingchi County is a green, luxuriant forest of giant cypresses. The largest tree is over 2,500 years old, 50 meters high, and 18 meters thick. Local people regard it as a divine tree. This giant cypress forest records a natural history of several thousand years, and is highly valuable in the studies of plants, climate, geographical and geological conditions, hydrology, air pollution and human activities during the past millennia.

In-between Bayi Town and Nyingchi County, there is a wood of giant cypress trees. The local Tibetans regard them as "holy trees". The oldest trees are more than 2500 year old and they are rare trees on the Plateau. They are quite significant in scientific research, expedition, teaching and tourism.
