 These are Tibetan woman who come to Tsahilhungpo Monastery for pilgrim.

Lamas of Tsahilhungpo Monastery

Tsahilhungpo Monastery (Lucky Golconda in Tibetan language), locates east of Nyimari Mountain in west of Xigaze and is one of the four monasteries for Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism. It is on March 4th, 1961 that Tsahilhungpo Monastery was listed to be the National Key Cultural Relic Protecting Unit.

It is recorded that Tsahilhungpo Monastery was built by 1st Dalai Lama Gendun Zhuba, student of primogenitor of Gelug School, Zongkapa. It was enlarged when the 4th Panchen, Lobsang Qoigyi Gyaincain was Chiba of Tsahilhungpo Monastery. From then on, Tsahilhungpo Monastery became the station of every Panchen.

Tsahilhungpo Monastery covers 150 thousand square meters and is surrounded with palace walls with a total length of over 3,000 meters. For over 500 years, Tsahilhungpo Monastery attracts Buddhism believers and tourists from all over the world to pilgrimage and visit.
